Job summary

Lilly, building a next-generation biotech drug substance manufacturing facility in Richmond, VA, seeks a Principal Automation Engineer – Building Management Systems to lead the design and delivery of BMS platforms and system integration for the GMP expansion.

The role involves collaborating with A&E firms, system integrators, and Tech@Lilly to develop software/hardware design, testing, startup, commissioning, and qualification, with potential travel and a significant impact on site engineering

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related applicable discipline.
3+ years of experience in Building Management or Building Automation Systems
Previous large project/program experience.

Responsibilities

Champion a strong safety culture and mentor others.
Collaborate with engineering, A&E firms, and system integrators to define requirements and specifications.
Support design and delivery of the BMS platform with selected suppliers.
Develop AF/ID’s, P&ID’s, and instrument specifications for BMS platforms.
Deliver a fully integrated automation solution and plan staffing and supplier management for automation systems.
Develop site procedures for BMS platforms and administration activities.
