Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking on-site staff in Waterloo, Iowa to support blood collection processes. You will engage donors, help maintain a welcoming environment, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance throughout the donation procedure.

Starting pay is $19.50/hour with a potential sign-on bonus of $3,000; paid phlebotomy training is offered as part of career growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours; a minimum height of 60 inches may be required to operate vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Take time to personally connect with donors and explain the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Maintain high attention to detail to ensure donations meet regulatory requirements.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and set up/tear down equipment at donation sites; may require travel.
