Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking personnel for on-site blood collection operations in Waterloo, Iowa. You will work with a team to prepare donation sites, welcome donors, and follow safety procedures to ensure lifesaving blood products reach hospitals.

Starting at $19.50 per hour with potential increases based on experience; a $3,000 sign-on bonus is available. This role requires flexibility, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift and move equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights, long hours and schedule changes; ability to operate vehicles may be required.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office are required.

Responsibilities

• Take time to connect with donors and explain the impact of donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Maintain detailed attention to ensure collected blood meets goals and regulatory requirements.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup/teardown at donation sites.
