Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York, NY seeks a Blood Bank Technologist to perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, result reporting, quality control, and instrument maintenance.

You will implement the BBQAPSA standards, manage blood product inventory, perform crossmatch and ABO/Rh testing, and ensure accurate data entry in the HCLL Epic systems, while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• NYSDOH licensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related sciences.
• One year clinical laboratory experience.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control and testing procedures per BBQAPSA requirements.
• Inventory management of blood and components; order and reconcile shipments.
• Accurately perform pre-transfusion testing (ABO/Rh, antibody screening) and document results.
• Follow FDA/NYSDOH SOPs; maintain records and ensure safety and compliance.
