Job summary

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Medical Technologist for the Blood Bank on the third shift with weekend coverage as needed. The position is full-time and located at Winston Campus.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in medical technology or related science, with NAACLS accreditation and ASCP certification. MT experience is preferred; CMP/BOC maintenance is required for certified personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical or biological science from an accredited university and CLIA 493.1491 qualifications.
MT experience preferred.
NAACLS approved program preferred; ASCP certification required or CMP participation for AMT/BOC.

Responsibilities

Adheres to hospital and department policies and maintains professionalism.
Performs laboratory testing accurately with minimal supervision and timely turnaround.
Prepares and dispenses blood products per protocols and regulations.
Ensures QC procedures and records, reports results accurately in LIS.
Maintains safety practices and proper patient identification.
Participates in continuing education and helps train others.
Adjusts workload to meet department needs and supports team.
