AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking an experienced Laboratory Leader to supervise performance improvement activities, ensure quality control, and support patient safety through accurate testing and compliant operations.

The role includes staff orientation, ongoing training, instrument maintenance oversight, and collaboration with clinical teams to uphold safety and efficiency in a busy hospital lab.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of clinical laboratory experience
• 1+ year of leadership experience
• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology
• CLIA equivalency or ABHES/CAAHEP training may be considered

Responsabilités

• Leads and participates in laboratory performance improvement activities
• Manages quality assessment, technical oversight, scheduling, staff training and competency evaluations
• Performs pre-analytical activities related to laboratory testing
• Participates in laboratory and hospital Performance Improvement activities
• Completes tests and analyses according to procedures and standards
• Carries out post-analytical activities and communicates results
• Reads and interprets complex test results
• Manages instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
• Leads quality control and quality assurance testing
• Provides orientation and training to new employees and students
• Guides staff and handles customer service issues
• Follows safety policies and completes hazardous waste training
• Assists with SOPs and document control
• May transport hazardous waste as required
• Other duties as assigned
