Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist IV for the Blood Bank department in Stony Brook, NY. The role conducts routine and specialized testing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with FDA/NYSDOH standards, while supporting education and safety within a full-time schedule.

Qualified candidates will have NYS licensure eligibility, prefer MT (ASCP) certification, and experience with WellSky systems; strong communication and teamwork are essential in this hands-on

Qualifications

NYS licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist or eligible with relevant experience.
MT (ASCP) Certification or equivalent preferred; Blood Bank experience.
Knowledge of WellSky Transfusion/Blood Center; automated Blood Bank experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform routine test analysis in Blood Bank and adhere to departmental policies.
Identify atypical antibodies and compatibility issues; generate reports.
Perform quality control and review final reports for accuracy.
Assist supervising staff in teaching medical technology students.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standards and regulations affecting the Blood Bank.
