Job summary

Etched is building a new category of AI hardware in San Jose. As a Physical Design Engineer, you will own block-level implementation from synthesis through GDSII sign-off and drive PPA optimization. You will collaborate with RTL designers to iteratively improve performance, power, and area across the full PD flow.

You will work in a fast-paced, in-person team environment and supervise outsourced PD work while delivering high-quality blocks for rapid productization.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of block-level PD experience in front-end to GDSII flow.
• Experience with RTL-to-GDSII flows and back-end timing closure.
• Familiarity with advanced nodes (5nm and below) and sign-off tools.

Responsibilities

• Own block-level physical design end to end, including floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing and GDSII sign-off.
• Drive timing closure across corners, develop constraints, and implement ECOs.
• Collaborate with RTL designers to provide PPA feedback and iterate designs.
• Supervise outsourced PD work and ensure quality and timely closure.
