Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a Learning & Development professional to design, deliver, and evaluate training programs across multiple lines of business. You will work with SMEs to create high-quality instructional materials and ensure effective onboarding and ongoing development for staff.

The role is full-time in a traditional office setting at our Columbia, SC location, with typical 8:00 AM–5:00 PM hours and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in a job related field.
• Degree equivalency: 4 years job related work experience or Associate's and 2 years job related work experience.
• 1 year training, insurance, and/or related work experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication and human relations skills.
• Ability to develop strong research, planning and data gathering skills.
• Ability to design and develop outputs in various methods.
• Strong organizational skills to schedule, prioritize, and complete work assignments.
• Ability to become an SME for multiple lines of business and job functions.
• Understand the complex technical environment of the organization and learn corporate systems.
• Understand Adult learning principles and learning development methodologies.
• Ability to deliver training classes to 1 to 50+ individuals.
• Dependable, responsible and able to work independently with little supervision.
• Microsoft Office and standard classroom equipment required; PC skills to support training materials.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to learn corporate and other required systems.
• Licenses/certificates: complete area training programs within 1 year or achieve competency verification.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates various levels of training for new hires and staff.
• Manages training environment for policy compliance and onboarding.
• Evaluates learner performance via testing methodologies.
• Communicates with customers/managers about learner progress.
• Assesses performance gaps to design training programs.
• Designs and develops training solutions for target audiences.
• Redesigns courses to fill learning gaps identified through feedback.
• Partners with SMEs and trainers to create high-quality materials.
• Supports training operations and collaborations to maintain knowledge.
• Maintains access to training systems and performs admin tasks.
