Job summary

S&G Bistro is seeking a friendly Bistro Associate to keep the front counter and food program running smoothly during shifts. You will greet guests, ring up purchases, and prepare menu items to meet quality standards.

You will also help keep the sales floor stocked and clean, rotate stock, and follow sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff. This role requires open availability and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to complete Level 1 ServSafe certification after hire (company covers cost).
• Experience in fast-paced customer service or retail environment.
• Open availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Strong verbal communication and composure under pressure.
• Accurate arithmetic and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and handle questions or complaints professionally.
• Prepare and assemble Bistro menu items per recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Rotate stock and check dates to ensure freshness.
• Operate the register, handle cash/card payments, and reconcile at shift end.
• Restock coolers, freezers, and displays to stay full and well arranged.
• Log temperatures and follow sanitation requirements.
• Record shift data such as safe counts and fuel price updates.
• Assist with receiving vendor deliveries and organize the stockroom.
• Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, restrooms, and exterior areas.
