Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Unit Coordinator to act as a central hub for patient care, coordinating activities from newborns to geriatrics. You will support safe patient care, assist the healthcare team, and serve as the unit receptionist and secretary.

You will help manage information flow, coordinate unit operations, and ensure a safe environment while working closely with nursing staff and other professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program (upon hire)
• Military medical specialty training (upon hire)
• Certified Nursing Assistant: WA (upon hire)
• Basic Life Support - CPR (upon hire)

Responsibilities

• Provide patient personal care/hygiene and comfort.
• Obtain labels and transport specimens; document data for care plans.
• Assist in admission, discharge and transfer of patients; transport as needed.
• Clean/disinfect mobile non-critical medical equipment per standards.
• Maintain neat, organized work environment; stock supplies and manage repairs.
• Perform environmental rounds and safety checks; ensure current forms and labeling.
• Follow safety standards and report issues to RN; participate in disaster drills.
