Job summary

DRH Health is seeking a Birth Center Technician to support nursing staff in the Surgery Department. The role involves preparing patients, maintaining a sterile field, donning gowns and gloves, and assisting surgeons with instruments and supplies.

Under RN supervision, you will assist with clerical duties, transport medications, and help ensure safety protocols and infection-control policies are followed. This is a safety-sensitive, on-site position at DRH Health facilities.

Qualifications

• Fluency in oral and written English; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; BLS required or within 30 days of hire.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills, email, and EHR information tools; adaptable to emergent situations.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the direction of surgeon and RN.
• Maintains infection-control policies to protect patients and team.
• Sets up and maintains sterile field; prepares surgical suite and equipment.
• Performs gowning, gloving, and draping for all cases; assists with procedures.
• Transports medications and handles them safely on sterile field.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional knowledge through ongoing education.
• Attends scheduled shifts regularly and adapts care to diverse patient needs.
