Job summary

MUSC Health in South Carolina is seeking a Labor & Delivery Technician (PRN) to support safe, successful deliveries. You will scrub and assist during labor, support the RN as circulator, and cross-train as Patient Care Technician to cover gaps.

The role requires Surgical Technologist program graduate, CST certification, BLS, OB scrub experience, and a calm, patient-centered approach. PRN arrangement means hours vary bi-weekly; hours must meet a bi-weekly minimum of 12 hours.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Surgical Technologist Certification is required for graduates after 2008.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the scrub person and surgical assistant during labor and delivery procedures.
• Assist the RN as an assistant circulator across patient populations from newborns to adults.
• Provide hands-on support in routine and emergency situations.
• Cross-train as a Patient Care Technician to deliver care when deliveries are not in progress.
