K3-Innovations, Inc. is seeking a Scientist II for the Biotransformation & Disposition Team within Development Sciences.

The role involves hands-on work in in vitro and in vivo biotransformation studies, operating LC and MS systems, and handling radiolabeled compounds to support drug metabolism programs. Responsibilities include routine lab tasks, sample prep for LC/MS and scintillation analysis, enzyme incubations, data interpretation, protocol optimization, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences with 2+ years experience
• Master's degree in Chemistry or related field with no additional experience required
• Proficiency in wet-lab techniques incl. cell culture where applicable
• Theoretical/practical knowledge of chromatography and/or mass spectrometry preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Perform routine lab tasks independently and generate reliable results
• Conduct in vitro assays and work with radiolabeled compounds
• Prepare samples for LC, MS and scintillation analysis
• Operate LC and MS instruments (Thermo/Sciex)
• Perform enzyme incubations, sample handling and extractions
• Optimize lab procedures to improve productivity
• Modify protocols as needs evolve
• Apply literature to contextualize data
• Contribute to Discovery and Development studies
• Develop proficiency in multiple experimental techniques
• Apply drug metabolism knowledge to drug discovery and development
• Support lab management: inventory, safety checks, documentation, compliance with GxP and radioactive handling requirements
