Job summary

Capital Group seeks a Fundamental Research Group Associate to collaborate with Investment Professionals to conduct long-term biotech research and generate investment ideas. You will analyze companies, financials, and industry trends, draft reports, and participate in meetings with management, sell-side firms, and experts.

You will leverage statistical methods and AI tools to enhance research quality, build financial models, and contribute to the investment process.

Qualifications

• MD or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline; for MD, prior laboratory or research experience is required.
• At least 2 years of investment research experience in buy-side or sell-side research.
• Track record of top accomplishments and internal drive to continuously improve.
• Experience in statistically analyzing clinical trials, evaluating mechanisms of action, and translating findings with positive predictive value.
• Experience with analytical assessment of scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial biotech developments.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to drive higher quality and more comprehensive research.
• Strong analytical capabilities and intellectual curiosity within healthcare, biotech, and capital markets.
• Extensive experience with detailed financial modeling and fundamental analysis using research tools and sources to generate insights.

Responsibilities
