Job summary

You will lead accounting operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and provide strategic financial insights to enable scalable growth in biotech.

Responsibilities include managing general ledger, close processes, cash flow, and audits, while collaborating with manufacturing, R&D, and commercial teams to optimize costs and profitability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting/controller experience; biotech or life sciences and manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls; experience with SOX/compliance frameworks.
• Experience with ERP implementation and maintenance (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and financial consolidation.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools and financial planning software.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes; oversee timely, accurate monthly financial statements and management reports, including board, lender, and investor reporting.
• Support development of accounting activities for key workstreams including payroll, manufacturing and cost accounting, and customer deposits/pass-through activities.
• Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and treasury controls; manage banking relationships.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls; coordinate internal and external audits.
• Manage and develop the finance team; provide coaching and set goals.
• Support regulatory and compliance reporting (tax, statutory filings, grant reporting if applicable).
• Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, operations, and commercial teams to drive cost containment, pricing strategy, and profitability optimization.
• Lead ERP/financial systems initiatives; own chart of accounts, cost centers, data integrity, and automation opportunities.
• Develop scalable accounting policies and procedures; document processes and maintain internal controls.
• Support FP&A activities including forecasting and variance analysis; assist pricing decisions.
