Job summary

Vaco is seeking a hands-on Controller to build the accounting infrastructure for a growing biotechnology company. You will own the monthly close, oversee financial reporting, and lead internal controls and policy development while partnering with external service providers and business leaders across the organization.

You will drive GAAP-compliant reporting, evaluate accounting policies, and manage system implementations to support rapid growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CPA certification is required.
• Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting foundation.
• Experience with ERP implementations or finance transformation initiatives.
• Ability to operate in a lean, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Develop and maintain internal management reporting packages.
• Support external reporting and coordinate with auditors and advisors.
• Drive implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
