Actalent in Fort Dodge, IA seeks a Bacterins Technician for aseptic production and bioprocessing support on a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

You will handle weighing, sampling, and verifications per batch records, operate within cGMP and safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in fermentation and production systems. The role emphasizes documentation, equipment readiness, and working with large-scale bioprocess equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology or related field preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or production setting preferred.
• Bioprocessing, fermentation, and biological organisms experience preferred.
• Familiarity with sterile processing and aseptic manufacturing environments.
• Experience with large-scale fermentation systems, vessels and related production equipment.
• Strong documentation to support quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform aseptic processing duties: weighing, measuring, sampling, and verifications per batch production records.
• Operate within cGMP and safety standards during production activities.
• Apply knowledge of fermentation, centrifuges, and bioprocessing to support operations.
• Maintain and release equipment, instruments, and materials for use.
• Use inventory system for material and equipment tracking.
• Oversee production processes, cleaning, environmental monitoring, and SOP updates.
• Conduct in-process quality checks and document results.
• Follow safety rules and wear protective equipment at all times.
• Read and interpret batch records and safety/docs to ensure accurate execution.
• Contribute ideas for process and workplace improvements.
