Job summary

CycloKinetics in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Bioprocess Specialist Level 1 to support fermentation and bioprocess operations. You will operate bioreactors, prepare media and inoculum, sample and monitor processes, and document results in a hands-on laboratory environment.

The role emphasizes safe, aseptic operation, adherence to protocols, and collaboration with scientists and engineers. On-site work with potential non-standard hours and limited travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering or related field; 0–2 years lab exp.
• Associate degree with 1–4 years bioprocessing experience or HS+2–5 years industry exp.
• Hands-on bioreactor operation and aseptic technique required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily fermentation operations and monitor processes per protocol.
• Prepare media, inoculum, and feed solutions; collect samples for testing.
• Maintain aseptic technique and accurate documentation of data.
• Assist with scale-up activities and data recording for scientists.
• Record deviations and equipment faults, and ensure safety compliance.
• Operate lab equipment and support process development experiments.
