Job summary

Sumitomo Biorational in Osage, IA, is seeking a Production Operator to operate fermentation and filtration equipment in a high-volume plant. You will follow safety, quality policies, perform routine maintenance, and document results across 2nd, 3rd, or 5th shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prefer a 2-year technical degree or related experience.
• Must be able to use computerized interfaces.
• Must be able to obtain an industrial truck license (valid driver’s license).

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment in a fermentation process to meet quality and production targets.
• Follow safety and environmental training policies and programs.
• Adjust equipment with assistance to achieve highest process capabilities.
• Use computerized interfaces to monitor and adjust critical equipment.
• Work at varying elevations and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and complete required documentation.
• Operate fermenters and filtration equipment and perform in-process testing.
• Manually operate valves and other controls as needed.
• May be assigned to Emergency Response Team.
• Follow Sumitomo Biorational ISO9001 quality standards.
• Work in extreme temperatures and wear full-face respirator when required.
