Job summary

AeroVironment Inc. in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a Fermentation Laboratory Technician to support biomanufacturing activities and process development within the Biological & Nano Scale Team.

The role involves operating and maintaining fermentation systems, preparing media, performing analyses, and documenting outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical Lead, apply established procedures, and contribute to the execution of biomanufacturing tasks in a lab and industrial

Qualifications

• BS in life sciences or related field or 4 years hands-on lab/industrial experience.
• Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions and established protocols.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to document laboratory activities clearly.
• Ability to work independently per established processes and protocols.
• Basic mathematical calculations and unit conversions.
• Adherence to laboratory safety requirements and procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot non-routine issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain fermentation systems and associated equipment.
• Prepare solutions and media; document procedures and results.
• Perform laboratory analyses and use analyzers per established protocols.
• Conduct aseptic operations with BSL-1 organisms following procedures.
• Document all lab activities, observations, and results accurately.
• Work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
