Job summary

The University of Iowa is seeking a Core Facility Research Assistant to join the Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing. The role focuses on manufacturing protein products for our CDMO operations, with training across fermentation and purification processes.

Work is on-campus, with regular daytime hours and occasional second/third shift coverage as required. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will develop hands-on skills in pilot-scale production under cGMP and non-cGMP conditions,

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of lab or biotech experience.
• Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and precise record keeping.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams to meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in manufacturing protein products under cGMP and non-cGMP conditions.
• Learn fermentation and purification processes for pilot scale manufacturing.
• Support operations under the supervision of the Director of Operations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and process records.
