Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans, operating through Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance, testing, calibration and repair on specialized medical imaging and related systems. Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
• 5 years of progressive experience in direct component-level repair and maintenance in medical imaging (in lieu of degree).
• 2 years progressive experience in direct component-level repair and maintenance in medical imaging.
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic and test equipment, QA procedures, and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of source/use of alternative parts for electronic or electromechanical equipment.
• Ability to use vendor-supplied service documentation and manuals to test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment.
• Ability to work well in a team and handle changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Completes the preventive maintenance workload to achieve a consistently high PM compliance.
• Provides safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment.
• Identifies and acquires supplies to service and repair equipment at the lowest cost.
• Establishes and maintains technical literature and standards for the biomedical program.
• Ensures equipment complies with regulatory requirements and quality control standards.
• Delivers presentations to small groups to keep staff updated on trends.
• Provides in-service training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.
