Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of medical devices, ensuring safety and availability for patient care. You will supervise maintenance staff, manage work schedules, and maintain equipment records in CMMS.

The role coordinates projects, supports the department budget, and serves as the liaison with leadership and internal customers. A degree in Biomedical Engineering or Electronics is preferred; 2-3 years of Biomedical experience

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electronics or related degree, or Military Biomedical certification.
  • In lieu of a degree, 2-3 years of direct Biomedical experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews work orders and preventive maintenance tasks to determine work priorities.
  • Schedules repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment by self-performance and delegation of work assignments.
  • Directs maintenance activities on biomedical equipment to provide safety, quality, and availability.
  • Manages CMMS database.
  • Coordinates special projects.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Directs training of workers to improve performance and acquaint workers with Mercyhealth policies.
  • Confers with Leadership, customers and QA staff to resolve maintenance problems and improve operations.
  • Assists Manager in preparation of department budget and monitors expenditure of funds.
  • Represents the department to internal customers.

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance staff, managing work schedules and equipment records, coordinating projects, supporting the department budget, and working with leadership and customers to improve operations.Schedule: 40-hours per weekEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReviews work orders and preventive maintenance tasks to determine work priorities.Schedules repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment by self-performance and delegation of work assignments.Directs maintenance activities on biomedical equipment to provide the highest standards for safety, quality, and availability of medical equipment.Manages CMMS database.Coordinates special projects.Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
