Job summary

Mercyhealth in Janesville, WI is seeking a dedicated CNA/Medical Assistant to join the patient-care team. The role involves providing routine patient care, documenting accurately, and maintaining a clean, safe environment in a fast-paced health system.

Qualifications include completion of a CNA program or ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited MA program, or EMT/Paramedic credentials recognized by Mercyhealth. CPR/BLS certification within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a CNA program or graduate of a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES/CAAHEP or similar regional/national accrediting bodies.
  • Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic Program graduate may be eligible.
  • Certification as Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant with recognized credentials is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care per routine and standards of care, per policies and procedures.
  • Answer call lights and telephone promptly; relay messages as needed.
  • Document care provided and maintain medical records.
  • Assist with IV starts, 12-lead EKGs, and CPR as directed.
  • Assist ED physicians with intubation equipment and other procedures as directed.
  • Transport patients between departments and assist with procedures when needed.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides patient care as assigned and per routine, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate mannerDocuments care provided according to standardsMaintains a clean work and patient environmentMaintains supplies, stocking new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.Processes orders in an accurate and timely manner. Answers the telephone and call lights appropriately and provides information or relays messages to patients and staff.Directs visitors to patients rooms. Maintains medical records of current patients.
