Job summary

Mercyhealth Freeport Hospital in Freeport, IL is seeking a Biomed Equipment Technician to maintain, repair, and test medical devices to ensure patient and staff safety. You will interact with clinical teams, manage work orders in the CMMS, and support asset tracking and preventive maintenance.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electronics or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience, including radiology or anesthesia equipment exposure; a

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electronics or related field.
• 3+ years handling medical/electronic/ mechanical equipment; 1 year in Radiology, X‑ray, Lab, OR, Dialysis, Anesthesia, or related areas.
• Vendor certifications or military equivalent are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and test equipment to ensure safe operation for patients and staff.
• Work with CMMS; manage work orders, assets and PM schedules.
• Consult with clinical staff; support inventory and department budgets.
• Travel to Mercyhealth locations as needed.
