Job summary

NAES Corporation is hiring an Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical (IC&E) Technician for Altavista Power Station in Altavista, VA. The role covers calibration, testing, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation, control, and electrical systems in a biomass-fired facility.

The technician will develop PLC/DCS logic, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Strong hands-on electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred in EET, Instrumentation or Industrial Maintenance.
• Experience in instrumentation, controls and electrical maintenance in power generation/biomass.
• Ability to install, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems.
• Knowledge of PLC/DCS programming and turbine control systems.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and OEM documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation and control systems.
• Develop and optimize PLC/DCS control logic.
• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Calibrate sensors and emissions monitoring systems.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors during outages.
• Maintain CMMS records and equipment documentation.
• Promote safe work practices (LOTO, electrical safety).
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
