Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director, Engineering within Biologics External Manufacturing Technology. This role leads technical transfers with External Partners and directs cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, on-time commercial manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or applicable Science required.
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or Business preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years post-bachelor’s degree experience in vaccines/biologics manufacturing or related tech support.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for tech transfers to External Partners and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Lead cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Procurement.
• Develop validation strategies for new and existing products and support tech transfer activities.
• Assess External Partner viability, perform due diligence, and ensure adherence to standards.
• Enable incident-free Tech Transfer and partner readiness across sites.
