Job summary

K3-Innovations, Inc. in Worcester, MA is seeking a Scientist III to lead analytical characterization of biologics and large molecules, focusing on mass spectrometry/LC-MS and protein characterization. This is a 1-year onsite role.

You will design and execute experiments, troubleshoot analytical challenges, and communicate findings to internal teams and clients. Strong experience in LC-MS, HPLC/UPLC, and PTM analysis is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Mass Spectrometry / LC-MS experience.
• Experience with biologics, proteins, or large-molecule characterization.
• Experience with intact protein analysis and/or peptide mapping.
• Understanding of protein structure and PTMs.
• Hands-on HPLC/UPLC experience.
• Ability to independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and interpret experiments.
• Strong scientific documentation and communication skills.
• PhD candidates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform LC-MS analysis of biologics/proteins, including intact/reduced mass analysis and peptide mapping.
• Perform protein characterization, sequence verification, and PTM analysis.
• Conduct HPLC/UPLC separation and fractionation of protein variants.
• Design, execute, and troubleshoot analytical/method-development experiments.
• Generate accurate, reliable, and reproducible analytical data.
• Document experiments and results in ELN.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to internal teams and clients.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and follow laboratory safety and quality procedures.
