Job summary

Astellas Oncology Research in South San Francisco is seeking a scientist to join the Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC) Group. You will design, conjugate, purify, and characterize next-generation bioconjugates including ADCs and dual-payload constructs.

You will collaborate across Chemistry, Protein Science, Biology, and Pharmacology to advance oncology programs. Ideal candidates hold a PhD with biologics experience or an MS with extensive industry background, and have hands-on conjugation and

Qualifications

PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field with 2+ years of industry/postdoc Biologics.
MS with 5+ years in biologics research accepted.

Responsibilities

Conduct laboratory research, design and execute experiments to meet project objectives.
Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize ADCs and bioconjugates.
Develop and optimize conjugation processes across discovery and development stages.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical challenges to meet timelines.
Collaborate with Chemistry, Protein Science, Biology, Pharmacology, ADME teams.
Manage and prioritize multiple projects ensuring timely materials and data.
Communicate rationale and results clearly in team meetings.
Serve as SME in bioconjugation and present findings for decisions.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure regulatory compliance.
Contribute to patents, publications, and technical reports.
