Job summary
Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Service Engineer I for the San Antonio, TX area. The role focuses on maintenance and repair of complex lab instrumentation, including LC, MS, and automated systems.
Work is Monday–Friday, with rotational weekends and up to 25% travel to cover an Austin lab as needed. Eligible candidates have a Master's or Bachelor's with relevant experience; strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills are required.
Qualifications
- Requires Master's degree; 1 year experience as Assoc, Service Engineer or Service Tech III with Bachelor's; Associate/BME cert with 3 years experience considered.
- 2–4 years servicing clinical lab instrumentation preferred.
- Must be able to operate in a biohazard environment and follow safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as in-house resource on complex repairs and calibrations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on Bio-analytical instrumentation (MS, LC, automated systems).
- Troubleshoot and perform advanced testing with minimal support.
- Assist with root cause analysis and escalations to senior staff or supplier when needed.
- Maintain parts inventory and follow SOPs and manuals.
- Guide junior staff and contribute to SOP development.
