Job summary

RT Specialty, LLC is seeking an Underwriting Associate to support the underwriter by evaluating underwriting applications, analyzing risk factors, and ensuring guideline compliance. The role collaborates with multiple departments to gather data and contribute to risk assessments.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or risk management, with 1+ year of related underwriting experience and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related discipline required.
• AIS or similar licenses encouraged.
• 1+ year related underwriting experience desired.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes quality, quantity, and profitability of highly complex risks underwritten; prepares and presents reports to management.
• Review submission information with the underwriter including analysis of account information.
• Coordinate the quoting, binding, and issuance process.
• Research and apply appropriate rates, coverages, and policy forms.
• Issue notices of cancellation, nonrenewal notices, or reinstatements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with underwriters, producers, brokers, and reinsurers.
• Maintain accurate file documentation in accordance with company guidelines.
• Develops and maintains agency/broker relationships with large producers to reach profitable outcomes on complex risks.
• Responsible for special underwriting projects and other duties as assigned.
