Job summary

Arch is seeking an Underwriting Assistant Associate to enter rating data for applications, quotes, change requests and renewals after underwriter approval. The position supports underwriting quality and service standards for insureds, agents, and coworkers.

Responsibilities include rate determinations, report preparation, and setting up policies ahead of effective dates, with guidance from senior underwriters. Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; college education or insurance classes preferred.
• Three years commercial lines insurance experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Enter rating information for applications, quotes, change requests and renewals after underwriter approval.
• Rate renewal business 90-120 days prior to expiration date per guidelines.
• Prepare and rate new business submissions as directed by Underwriter.
• Prepare reports for underwriting (coversheets, valuations, flood zone determinations, peril reports by location).
• Set up policies for issuance 30 days prior to effective date and handle pre-bind changes.
