Job summary

RT Specialty, a division of Ryan Specialty, is seeking an Underwriting Associate to support underwriters by reviewing applications, assessing risk, and ensuring adherence to guidelines. You will coordinate with multiple departments to gather information and contribute to the overall risk assessment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration or Risk Management preferred) and at least 1 year of related experience. State P&C licenses are minimum; AIS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Risk Management preferred)
• 1+ year related experience or in a similar role
• Licenses: state P&C and/or surplus line minimum; AIS preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs a combination of duties per departmental guidelines.
• Analyzes quality, quantity, and profitability of complex risks and presents reports.
• Review submission information with the underwriter and analyze account information.
• Coordinate quoting, binding, and issuance processes.
• Research and apply appropriate rates, coverages, and policy forms.
• Issue notices of cancellation, nonrenewal, or reinstatements.
• Maintain relationships with underwriters, producers, brokers, and reinsurers.
• Maintain accurate file documentation per company guidelines.
