Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and specifications to follow bindery requirements precisely.
• Must be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits for machines and setups.
• Skill in using standard and specialized bindery tools to adjust and maintain equipment.
• Knowledge of various bindery machines and their operating limitations for folding, stitching, binding, and finishing.
• Understanding of paper stock types and their impact on finishing quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines and attachments to produce final books and catalogs.
• Operate automatic bindery machines with multiple functions to complete finishing units.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and maintain safe operating standards.
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a machine.
• Direct crew through all aspects of production and monitor output and quality.
• Monitor productivity and ensure adherence to specifications.
