Job summary

RRD is seeking a Gluer Operator for the 1st shift (Mon-Thu, 5am-3pm) at ourOhio location. The role involves setting up and operating various bindery and finishing machines to convert printed sheets into finished books, catalogs, or manuals.

You will monitor machine performance, ensure quality and safety, and coordinate with team members to meet production targets. Prior experience with binding equipment and a strong attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret work orders or job specifications for bindery requirements and machine operation sequencing.
• Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits for combining machines.
• Skill in using standard and specialized bindery tools to adjust and maintain machines.
• Knowledge of complex bindery machines and their operation for folding, collating, and finishing.
• Understanding of paper stock quality and machining requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate bindery equipment and finishing machines to produce final books, catalogs, or magazines.
• Inspect equipment for safety and operational issues.
• Direct crew through production and monitor quality, output, and productivity.
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a machine.
• Oversee finishing, folding, collating, and cutting processes to ensure product integrity.
