Job summary

Baker Group is seeking a BIM-VDC Fabrication Database Specialist to build and maintain fabrication content for mechanical piping and plumbing in Revit. The role focuses on ITM parts, service palettes and project-specific profiles to ensure accurate spool data and material lists.

You will collaborate with detailers, BIM technicians, the fabrication shop and procurement to resolve content needs, test data, and uphold standards across projects. On-site in Ankeny, IA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Post-secondary technical education in BIM/VDC, CAD/Revit, plumbing mechanical systems or construction technology is a plus.
• Minimum of two years in mechanical or plumbing detailing, fabrication content development or related role.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project-specific Autodesk Fabrication profiles and services for mechanical piping and plumbing systems.
• Create, configure, update and maintain ITM fabrication parts and service palettes.
• Test parts and services in Revit across sizes and use cases, checking placement, routing and tags.
• Validate fabrication content produces accurate spool information and material data.
• Set up and review profiles for project-specific systems and materials.
• Maintain organized content versions, change records and documentation.
• Collaborate with detailers, BIM technicians, fabrication shop, purchasing, vendors and project teams to resolve content requests.
• Troubleshoot ITM, service, profile and data issues and communicate impacts to teams.
• Support development and improvement of fabrication content standards and handoff procedures.
