Job summary

Stantec is seeking a BIM Technician to work under the BIM team on small to medium projects and integrate with larger teams on bigger initiatives. The role focuses on setting up BIM models, organizing file structures, and producing compliant drawing documentation using Revit Structure.

You will collaborate with project managers and design staff, develop family content, and support clash detection with Navisworks.

Qualifications

• Certificate from a technical college.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience with Revit, or equivalent education/experience.
• Related experience in the architectural/engineering/contractor industry.
• Familiarity with structural design within the built environment is preferred.
• Advanced degree in related field and relevant certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sets up new BIM models and maintains file structure for projects.
• Prepares drawing documentation with project managers and design staff.
• Works in Revit Structure on 3D projects, maintains multiple models and creates views.
• Creates electronic data files per Stantec and client requirements.
• Converts markups to document-ready work and manages drawing sets.
• Maintains drawing revisions and mentors staff in Design Technology systems use.
• Identifies efficiency opportunities and participates in training to increase BIM value.
• Attends internal and external meetings and supports studio goals.
