Job summary

Gruner seeks an experienced MEP BIM designer to develop and model HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems in Autodesk Revit using laser scan data and existing as-built documentation.

You will produce drawings for all design stages, coordinate systems within Revit, trace and reconstruct existing MEP networks to match as-built tolerances, and verify data against drawings, specs, and O&M manuals while applying BIM and 3D workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in HVAC/MEP design, modeling, or BIM coordination.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP – specifically mechanical, plumbing, and piping systems
• Familiarity with plumbing and process piping systems (water, gas, compressed air)
• Ability to read and interpret existing mechanical/plumbing drawings, P&IDs, and O&M manuals
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (2D/3D), with the ability to support colleagues technically
• Familiarity with Scan2BIM workflows is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Comfortable using collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
• Team-oriented, reliable, and collaborative mindset
• Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and model HVAC, plumbing, and automation systems in Revit using laser scan data and as-built docs.
• Produce 2D and 3D drawings for all design stages.
• Coordinate cooling, heating, BAS/BMS, plumbing, and process piping within Revit.
• Trace, reconstruct, and verify existing MEP systems against as-built conditions.
• Cross-reference scan data with drawings, specs, and O&M manuals to validate routing, sizing, and equipment data.
• Apply BIM/3D workflows and modern construction methodologies.
