Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking a BIM Modeler for Instrumentation & Controls to own the controls and instrumentation model on AI data center projects. You will model in Revit and translate to AutoCAD Plant 3D, coordinating with controls, electrical, mechanical, IT and field teams to resolve conflicts before installation.

This in-office role is based in Houston, Long Beach, or San Francisco with full-time onsite expectations and some site travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years modeling building systems and MEP scope in Revit for industrial, energy, data center, or mission-critical projects
• Expert-level Autodesk Revit, including MEP family creation, parametric content, worksharing, and shared coordinates
• Strong AutoCAD Plant 3D proficiency; fluent between AutoCAD and Revit without loss of accuracy
• Demonstrated experience with controls system layout, instrumentation, cable tray and conduit routing
• Able to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, controls documentation and equipment arrangements
• Navisworks proficiency with clash detection and resolution
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud and Bluebeam Revu
• High school diploma; degree preferred in electrical/controls engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong written and verbal communication across cross-functional teams
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Create models for instrumentation and controls in Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D across active projects
• Model cable tray, conduit runs and routing; coordinate sizing with other scopes to avoid conflicts
• Model control panels, junction boxes, and cabinets for accessibility and integration
• Convert CAD controls drawings and P&IDs into native Revit geometry; produce CAD deliverables as needed
• Maintain the controls model within the federated set per BIM Execution Plan
• Run clash detection cycles in Navisworks and resolve conflicts
• Raise and track model change requests to control revisions
• Produce controls drawings, system layouts and sensor locations; schedules for cabling and panels
• Generate model-based quantity takeoffs for procurement and estimating
• Build and maintain a parametric Revit family library for repeatable controls content
• Contribute to templates, view standards, and naming conventions
• Support commissioning and startup teams with as-built documentation
• Maintain as-built model updates from field feedback and markups
• Mentor junior drafters and review outputs before release
