Job summary

Giga Energy seeks a BIM Designer, Mechanical to develop and coordinate mechanical systems models (ductwork, hydronic piping, and equipment layouts) across our AI data center and industrial portfolio. You’ll translate engineering markups into fully coordinated Revit models, applying engineering judgment to maintain a single federated model from design through fabrication and field support.

This in-office role is ideally based in San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston, with full-time onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years developing mechanical systems in Autodesk Revit.
• Strong experience modeling HVAC ductwork, hydronic piping, and equipment layouts.
• Knowledge of sizing, airflow, velocity, and pressure-drop criteria.
• Ability to translate markups into complete, coordinated mechanical layouts.
• Experience coordinating with architecture, structure, electrical, and plumbing teams; BIM clash resolution.
• Excellent attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical system models in Revit from markups and design criteria.
• Size ductwork and piping based on airflow and equipment requirements.
• Produce plans, sections, details, and schedules from BIM models.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines.
• Run Navisworks clash detection and drive resolutions.
• Track issues through closure and ensure changes are reflected in the model.
• Maintain model quality and BIM standard compliance.
• Support construction and field teams with routing and field conditions.
