Job summary

Giga Energy Inc. is seeking a BIM Modeler for Instrumentation & Controls to own the controls model on AI data center projects. You will model in Revit, translate CAD to Revit, and create families and standards for future campuses.

Work with controls engineers, electrical/mechanical IT teams, and field crews to resolve clashes and ensure accurate sensor locations, cable routing, and panel layouts. This is a hands-on, high-volume role with on-site expectations in a US-based environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years modeling building systems and MEP scope in Revit for industrial, energy, data center, or mission-critical projects.
• Expert-level Autodesk Revit, including MEP family creation, parametric content, worksharing, and shared coordinates.
• Strong AutoCAD Plant 3D experience; fluent between AutoCAD and Revit.
• Demonstrated experience with controls system layout, instrumentation, cable tray and conduit routing.
• Able to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and related docs.
• Navisworks proficiency with clash testing.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma) and Bluebeam Revu.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional work.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Create Models for instrumentation and controls systems in Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D across active projects: sensor layouts, I/O cabinets, control panels, networking equipment, cable tray and conduit routing, and all field device locations.
• Model cable tray, conduit runs, and cable routing; coordinate sizing and routing to avoid conflicts.
• Model control panels, junction boxes, disconnect switches, and cabinet locations for accessibility and integration.
• Convert incoming AutoCAD controls drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics into native Revit geometry; produce CAD deliverables when needed.
• Maintain the controls model within the federated model set per the BIM Execution Plan, including worksets and shared coordinates.
• Participate in and run Navisworks clash detection; resolve controls-side conflicts.
• Raise and track model change requests to keep geometry current.
• Produce controls drawings, system layout plans, instrumentation and I/O location plans, schedules.
• Generate model-based quantity takeoffs for cable, conduit, sensors, panels, and controls hardware.
• Build and maintain the parametric Revit family library for repeatable controls content.
• Contribute to templates, view standards, parameters, and naming conventions.
• Support commissioning and startup teams with as-built docs and verifications.
• Maintain as-built model updates from field markups and site feedback.
• Mentor junior drafters and review their controls output before release.
