Job summary

Giga Energy seeks a BIM Modeler for Instrumentation & Controls to own the controls and instrumentation model on AI data center projects. You will model in Revit and AutoCAD, translating CAD to Revit and creating repeatable content like families and templates.

This role offers ownership, high-volume work, and collaboration with controls, electrical, mechanical, IT, and field teams. Based in Houston, Long Beach, or San Francisco with full-time onsite expectations and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years modeling building systems and MEP in Revit.
• Expert-level Revit MEP including family creation and shared coordinates.
• Fluent AutoCAD Plant 3D; able to move between CAD and Revit without loss of accuracy.
• Experience with controls system layout, sensor placement, and cable routing.
• Strong written and verbal communication across cross-functional teams.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Create Models for instrumentation and controls in Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D across active projects.
• Model cable tray, conduit routing, and coordinates to avoid conflicts with other scopes.
• Develop and maintain control panels layouts and sensor locations for accessibility.
• Convert CAD controls drawings and controls documentation into native Revit geometry.
• Maintain the federated model set per BIM Execution Plan and manage worksets and links.
• Lead clash detection cycles in Navisworks and resolve controls-related conflicts.
• Mentor junior drafters and review outputs before release.
• Produce controls drawings and schedules; generate model-based quantity takeoffs.
