Job summary

Giga is seeking a BIM Modeler for Instrumentation & Controls to own the controls model on AI data center projects. You will model sensor networks, I/O locations, and control panels in Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D, ensuring coordination with electrical, mechanical, and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Experience modeling instrumentation and controls systems in BIM environments.
• Ability to translate P&IDs and electrical schematics into native BIM geometry.
• Strong coordination across disciplines to resolve conflicts early.

Responsibilities

• Create models for instrumentation and controls systems in Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D across active projects (sensor layouts, I/O cabinets, control panels, networking equipment, cable tray and conduit routing).
• Model cable tray, conduit runs, and cable routing; coordinate sizing to avoid conflicts with other scopes.
• Model control panels, junction boxes, disconnect switches, and cabinet locations for accessibility and integration.
• Convert AutoCAD controls drawings, P&IDs, and schematics into Revit geometry; deliver CAD outputs as needed for partners/AHJs.
• Maintain the controls model within the federated model set (worksets, links, shared coordinates).
• Run clash detection cycles in Navisworks and resolve controls-side conflicts.
• Raise and track model change requests to control revisions and prevent stale geometry.
• Produce controls drawings, layout plans, schedules, and sensor/device schedules.
• Generate model-based quantity takeoffs for cables, conduit, sensors, panels, and controls hardware.
• Build and maintain a parametric Revit family library for repeatable controls content.
• Familiarity with Template and Modular design strategies; contribute to templates and naming conventions.
