Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking a senior BIM/MEP modeling specialist to own controls and instrumentation models for AI data center projects. You will build Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D models, place sensors, plan cable trays and panels, and convert P&IDs into accurate 3D geometry.

You will coordinate with controls, electrical, and IT teams, maintain federated models, and perform clash detection in Navisworks to ensure conflict-free designs.

Qualifications

5+ years modeling building systems and MEP in Revit for industrial/data center projects.
Expert-level Revit with MEP family creation, parametric content, worksharing & shared coordinates.
Strong AutoCAD Plant 3D; bidirectional workflow between AutoCAD and Revit without accuracy loss.
Experience with controls system layout, instrumentation, cable tray & conduit routing, sensor placement.
Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, controls docs, equipment arrangments, sequence of operations.
Navisworks proficiency: clash tests and resolving interferences.
Knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma) and Bluebeam Revu.
Familiarity with NEC/IEC/NFPA electrical codes.
High school diploma required; degree in electrical/controls engineering preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Own the controls and instrumentation systems model on projects.
Create models in Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D including sensor placements and panels.
Model and coordinate cable trays, conduits, control panels, and junction boxes.
Convert AutoCAD/P&IDs into Revit geometry and produce CAD deliverables.
Maintain models within federated sets per BIM Execution Plan.
Run clash detection in Navisworks and resolve conflicts.
Raise and track model change requests; produce control drawings and layouts.
Generate model-based quantity takeoffs for controls materials.
Build and maintain parametric Revit families; contribute to templates and shared parameters.
Support commissioning with as-built docs and verifications; update models from field markups.

Job description

Own the controls and instrumentation systems model on Giga Energy's AI data center projects
Create instrumentation and controls models in Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D, including sensor layouts, I/O cabinets, control panels, networking equipment, cable tray and conduit routing, and field device locations
Model and coordinate cable tray, conduit runs, control panels, junction boxes, disconnect switches, and cabinet locations
Convert AutoCAD controls drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and partner documentation into native Revit geometry and produce CAD deliverables
Maintain controls models within federated model sets according to the Giga BIM Execution Plan
Run clash detection in Navisworks and resolve controls-side conflicts
Raise and track model change requests
Produce controls drawings, layout plans, I/O location plans, routing schedules, panel layouts, and sensor/device schedules
Generate model-based quantity takeoffs for controls materials and hardware
Build and maintain parametric Revit family libraries
Contribute to controls model templates, view standards, shared parameters, and naming conventions
Support commissioning and startup teams with as-built documentation and system verification
Maintain as-built model updates from field markups, installation photos, and site feedback
Mentor junior drafters and review controls output

Requirements

5+ years modeling building systems and MEP scope in Revit for industrial, energy, data center, or mission-critical projects.
Expert-level Autodesk Revit, including MEP family creation, parametric content, worksharing, and shared coordinates. Family creation is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have
Strong AutoCAD Plant 3D; fluency moving work in both directions between AutoCAD and Revit without losing accuracy
Demonstrated experience with controls system layout, instrumentation, cable tray and conduit routing, and sensor/device placement
Able to read and work from P&IDs, electrical schematics, controls system documentation, equipment general arrangements, and sequence of operations
Navisworks proficiency, including running clash tests and resolving interference in your own models
Working knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma) and Bluebeam Revu
Working knowledge of building codes and standards relevant to electrical distribution and controls (NEC, IEC, NFPA)
High school diploma required
Degree or diploma in electrical engineering, controls engineering, or related technical field preferred, or equivalent years of experience
Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to work cross-functionally with controls engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, IT teams, and site crews
Able to work under the direction of the BIM Lead and Design TPMs with minimal oversight
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
