Job summary

IMEG in Germantown, MD is hiring a Virtual Design Coordinator (BIM Specialist) to oversee and manage BIM projects across all disciplines and serve as the main contact for BIM questions for the project team and clients.

You will work with architects, engineers, contractors and owners to meet project goals, develop BIM protocols, and advance high-performance design with a focus on MEP systems. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Germantown, MD.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience minimum, 5 preferred, or equivalent.
• Revit experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage BIM projects across disciplines and serve as main point of contact for BIM questions for project teams and clients.
• Work within project budgets and collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners to meet goals.
• Review effectiveness and validate current BIM standards and procedures.
• Lead BIM project kickoff and progress meetings with clients and consultants.
• Identify training needs for BIM standards and tools and stay updated on BIM technology and trends.
• Coordinate model setup and understand project scope requirements.
• Manage project folders, file sharing, and archival between IMEG disciplines and external partners.
• Provide team support for Virtual Design software and escalate as needed.
• Review models and deliverables for compliance with standards and complete model maintenance.
• Identify and resolve issues, run clash detection, and participate in BIM coordination.
