Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Billing Supervisor to lead a team of billing and support staff, ensuring accurate, timely procedures and cross training. The role coordinates scheduling, monitors productivity, and mentors teammates while collaborating with Sales, Warehousing, AR, and AP teams.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in accounting/finance or equivalent, 2+ years of supervisory experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Mcleod, Cargowise, and Deposco billing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associates degree in Accounting or Finance or the equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
• 2+ years' relevant work experience.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Knowledge of general accounting practices including billing requirements, AR, AP and cash management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train and mentor staff for career development.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates scheduling, backup coverage and allocating team members to specific tasks based on the department's needs.
• Maintains levels of productivity through self-direction, goal setting, feedback and accountability.
• Analyzes and evaluates issues to identify root cause with emphasis placed on streamlining and automation.
• Monitors and mentors to encourage further development of each team member's technical abilities.
• Creates, improves, and documents processes.
• Develops and reports metric information to management.
• Understanding and working with software that supports the Domestic (Mcleod), International (Cargowise) and Warehouse billing (Deposco).
• Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of billing with accountability to DSO to allow collections to take place timely and accurately.
• Works closely with the AR/Collections team and the Billing Analysts to resolve billing discrepancies or other AR issues.
• Interfaces with Sales, Warehousing, Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, and Accounts Payable teams.
• Fosters a strong and positive communication between external and internal customers.

Billing Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of billing and support staff to ensure that successful operational procedures are being adhered to as well as coordinate the work among the team members to ensure accuracy, timeliness as well as cross training within the department.

Billing Supervisor responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Coordinates scheduling, backup coverage and allocating team members to specific tasks based on the department's needs
• Maintains levels of productivity through self-direction, goal setting, feedback and accountability.
• Analyzes and evaluates issues to identify root cause with emphasis placed on streamlining and automation

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Previous experience in transportation or logistics preferred
