Job summary

8am is seeking a Billing Specialist to own end-to-end billing on our Revenue team, with Stripe at the center. You will audit invoicing, manage subscriptions and tax configurations, reconcile transactions, and resolve billing discrepancies while keeping customer data clean and up to date.

You will use AI tools to automate review, reconciliation, and reporting, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to deliver a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Billing/AR roles or similar.
• Hands-on Stripe experience and dashboard familiarity.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial controls.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets; Workday a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience using AI tools to automate workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end billing process and audit invoicing.
• Manage Stripe subscriptions, recurring payments, discounts, tax configs.
• Reconcile transactions and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Handle Stripe issues like chargebacks, refunds, failed payments; partner with Eng.
• Maintain AR aging and apply credit memos accurately.
• Update customer accounts for plan changes and data hygiene.
• Respond to billing questions and support Customer Success.
• Build billing reports and leverage AI to automate reviews.
