Job summary

Career Movement is seeking a Billing Specialist to be the go-to billing partner for project managers from contract award through closeout. This role sets up and maintains projects in Deltek and produces a high volume of client invoices each month, partnering with PMs to clear unbilled work and monitor open balances.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, at least 2 years in project-based billing, strong Excel skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance.
• Minimum of 2 years of billing experience in a consulting business (project-based billing preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel pivot tables.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment.
• Able to work extended days in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system and interpret contracts for billing implications.
• Prepare and send complete client invoice packages, including required backup, on time.
• Distribute monthly billing reports to project managers and process labor and expense transfers.
• Review work in progress (WIP) and aged WIP with project managers and resolve open issues.
• Follow up with clients on invoice receipt and payment status, partnering with project managers on collections.
