Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for success in a high-volume ophthalmology office. Applicants should have a high school diploma, and at least two years of medical office experience; knowledge of ophthalmology terminology is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical verifications and post updates.

Summary:

We are looking to employ a Billing Representative with outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to join our team. You will have excellent administrative and critical thinking skills with the ability to multi-task and handle difficult situations in a fast-paced environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Surgical Verifications
• Taking calls and answering inquiries
• Posting surgery claims
• Obtaining authorizations and updating notes

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of CPT, HCPC, and ICD-10 codes
• Basic understanding of Medical Terminology (preferably ophthalmology)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to interact with insurance companies, patients and employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Comply with HIPPA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of experience in a medical office, preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer
• Repetitive hand movements (Specifically keyboarding and writing)
